MAPIM urges global support for diplomacy to prevent war with Iran

MAPIM praised Iran’s readiness for diplomacy and warned that any military strike could ignite a regional war with global consequences. The organization urged the U.S., UN, regional actors, and the OIC to prioritize dialogue and prevent escalation.

AhlulBayt News Agency: MAPIM stated that Iran’s readiness to engage in diplomacy represents a rational and stabilizing approach for the region, warning that any military strike would risk triggering a wider regional war with global repercussions.

The organization noted that the situation in West Asia remains tense, with U.S. officials issuing provocative statements and American warships deployed in the Persian Gulf, while several countries work to prevent a new conflict that could spread beyond Iran.

Azmi Abdul Hamid, president of MAPIM, issued a statement urging the international community to support dialogue and push all parties toward diplomatic solutions rather than confrontation.

In its full statement, MAPIM described Iran’s willingness to pursue confidence‑building measures in exchange for sanctions relief as a constructive step toward de‑escalation.

MAPIM emphasized that, at a time when military confrontation is openly discussed, any commitment to dialogue deserves strong international backing.

The organization reiterated that Iran’s diplomatic approach prioritizes regional stability and avoids catastrophic conflict, warning that military action would ignite a broader regional war with global consequences.

MAPIM stressed that escalation cannot be viewed in isolation, as the Middle East is already suffering from conflicts, humanitarian crises, and geopolitical tensions. A war involving Iran would worsen insecurity, disrupt global energy markets, and risk international confrontation.

The group expressed concern that political pressures and strategic alliances may push the United States toward military action despite diplomatic opportunities.

MAPIM warned that foreign policy driven by the interests of another state undermines global confidence and stability.

It added that a war with Iran would not be limited in scope and would have unpredictable consequences for civilians, regional economies, and global security.

MAPIM therefore called on the United States to prioritize diplomacy, urged the United Nations to support tension‑reducing mechanisms, encouraged regional actors to show restraint, and asked the OIC to take an active diplomatic role.

The statement concluded that peaceful resolution is the only sustainable path, stressing that the world needs leadership rooted in wisdom and respect for international law, and that preventing conflict with Iran is a global responsibility.
